Launch of Sindhi language programme on BBC Asian Network
The BBC exists to enrich people's lives with great programmes and services that inform, educate and entertain. Its vision is to be the most creative, trusted organisation in the world. With this understanding we would ask the BBC to consider fulfilling the needs of the Sindhi community worldwide by providing a programme aimed specifically at Sindhis in the Sindhi language. Sindhi Hindus are currently at a huge disadvantage since they have no land to call their own following partition of India in 1947. Sindh was acceded to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in its entirety. To date the Sindhi diaspora has continued to struggle to maintain basic aspects of its identity such as language. Language is an important aspect of Sindhi life and the younger generation will benefit greatly from an easy to access online programme via the trusted and highly respected BBC portal. The BBC is guaranteed an educated and enthusiastic worldwide audience hence a programme for the Sindhi audience will be mutually beneficial and will run in accordance with BBC values as follows:
